With the changes in the personal life of Kelli O'Donnell, co-owner of R Family Vacations and co-parent of four children with Rosie O'Donnell, the world is curious to know how this would affect business for the world's foremost cruise and tour company catering to gays and lesbians and their families.
 
"We're going to continue to run the company just as it's been run before. Rosie put her imprint on it and it's going to move full steam ahead," says Kelli.
 
In a very challenging economic climate, how does a small travel company in the new and evolving gay family niche thrive and prosper? "Introduce new products that our customers are asking for," is one way, according to Gregg Kaminsky, Kelli's business partner and long-time cruise veteran.
 
One new product, according to Gregg is gay family groups on board mainstream cruises allowing, "our guests to see other parts of the world with the R Family experience and with friends they know and feel comfortable with." Another new product is land-based vacations, with R Family chartering a beautifully renovated Club Med in Ixtapa, Mexico this summer (recently selected as the #4 all-inclusive resort in the world by Trip Advisor!)
 
And what about the topnotch Broadway entertainment R Family is celebrated for? There's still plenty of that in store, too, "with lots of Broadway entertainers, lots of comedians and educational speakers," according to Kaminsky.
