Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Hosts Private Reception and Investment Symposium



 

 

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Morgan Stanley Smith Barney today announced that it will host a private reception and investment symposium on wealth planning for LGBT couples on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Hotel Solamar, San Diego. The event is part of an ongoing series of similar wealth-planning programs being delivered by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney across the country.”

We're pleased to partner with the Equality California Institute to facilitate this discussion with the Williams Institute,” said Michael Melton, Senior Vice President, Complex Manager, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. “Inclusion and diversity are fundamental to our role as a global leader and we are therefore pleased to help create a forum that highlights our wealth planning resources and allows us to deliver innovative solutions that address the financial needs of LGBT couples.”

The event will feature findings of studies compiled by the Williams Institute on the challenges faced by LGBT individuals and their partners under current retirement and Federal Estate Tax laws. The research will address homeownership rates, income and poverty levels and retirement assets.
