By Andrew A. Isen

In 1992, an advertising program directed to gay men was launched at a kitchen table in Washington DC. That's how Direct Male was born. For those old enough to remember the days before LGBT marketing became mainstream, Direct Male was a spiffy gold and black foil  “card pack” that arrived discreetly in mailboxes three times each year. Containing offers from everything from travel, to clothing, to even AOL’s first gay solicitation, Direct Male grew over ten years to become the most successful gay direct marketing program ever launched, reaching over 100,000 self-identified gay households.

Back in the 90’s, not many companies showed any openness to the idea of gay marketing, let alone an understanding of the financial power of the gay community. What a difference 20 years makes! With each new entrant, be it a liquor firm, tourist board, insurance company, or hotel chain, companies began to embrace the gay consumer segment. Today, nearly all Fortune 500 companies have their own LGBT marketing programs or departments specifically devoted to marketing goods and services to our community.

Fast forward to 2012—we were ahead of the game then, and we're ahead of the game now. Marketing in general has gone beyond just digital.  Companies no longer speak to us, but through us. It’s viral. It’s social.  The gay consumer remains the most coveted, trendsetting, early adopter.  And, there is now no better vehicle to reach the gay male segment than DirectMale.com.

DirectMale.com is the company for online offers of quality and value. No Groupon here. We’re offering upscale goods and services sourced expressly for the discerning gay man. Want a bespoke suit, an all male custom cruise in the Aegean, alligator accessories or youth enhancing skin products? We have them all—and at discounts ranging from 15-70%.

We offer many one-of-a-kind and exclusive opportunities from companies you may not know—they don’t always have brick-and-mortar storefronts, and may not be available in your neighborhood store or on the other generic deal sites. But these deals will make you want to spread the word. Friend us on Facebook, let your friends see the deals you're getting. Let your followers on Twitter hear about the great places you're going. And, most importantly, enjoy your unique, boutique purchases at the savings you deserve. Sign up today!

Talk to us. Tell us what you want. Show us something new. And, as always, please feel free to email me directly (no pun intended) at aisen@directmale.com

We're back, we're better, we're DirectMale.com.  Check us out. "Decidedly more, definitely me!"
